Birdhouse Farmers Market believes everyone should have access to healthy local foods. We are proud to accept EBT/SNAP at both our in-person and our online market. Additionally, we participate in the Virginia Fresh Match Program doubling the purchasing power for our SNAP customers. Here are the details.
To use your SNAP benefits at the market,
Come to the Information Tent.
We’ll swipe your card and give you tokens (red) to use on any SNAP eligible products.
In addition you will receive an equal amount of SNAP Match (green) for free.
Green tokens can be used for fresh fruits and vegetables only.
Tokens do not expire, but can be used only at Birdhouse Farmers Market.
To use your SNAP benefits online,
Set up an account on our Lulu's site.
Email the market manager before ordering online for the first time at: birdhousefarmersmarket@gmail.com
We will set up a SNAP credit which will be available every week.
If you need more credit for any particular week, email us and we will add the specific amount you ask for!
No processing fees or sales tax is charged on SNAP orders.
Only SNAP-eligible items may be purchased using SNAP.
SNAP customers qualify for a 50% discount on their entire order, so long as at least half of the order is fresh fruits and vegetables!
Online customers using SNAP pay when they pick up their orders. All discounts are applied at pickup. Any purchases for non-SNAP items may also be paid for at pickup.
