Liberty Tree Farm
A love of vegetable gardening, history, and food inspired Jonathan Bremer to establish a farming operation in 2015. Located in eastern Louisa County, the farm gets its name from a nearly 300-year-old red cedar tree at the front of the property. Our gardens and high tunnels surround a home known as the Richardson House which was built around 1742. Our goal is to raise vegetables, herbs, and flowers naturally—without synthetic herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers. Our growing plan includes crop rotation, cover cropping, and the use of compost to improve our soil. In addition to fresh produce, the farm adds value and extends its harvest by producing a variety of shelf stable and frozen products including pesto, fire-roasted vegetables, and dried herbs and spices.
